摘 要:After a brief review on solitons and vortices in the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, I will discuss the peculiarities of the case with competing nonlinear terms, in two dimensions. This model describes physical systems such as liquid light and quantum droplets in Bose-Einstein condensed cold atomic mixtures. I will present effective models that allow for a simple yet accurate description of flat-top eigenstates for a large norm of the wavefunction. I will discuss the stability of bright vortex solitons and show the existence and dynamics of different configurations and processes in this context: vortex crystals, rarefaction pulses, coherent cavitation, vortex trajectories, etc.
